Chemeketa offers a book exchange, textbook lending library, book rental and other resources to help you get what you need for low or no cost.

  • Chemeketa Bookstore

    The Chemeketa Bookstore is committed to helping you manage textbook costs. Visit the bookstore website and view the content under the Textbooks heading to learn more.

  • Chemeketa Press

    Chemeketa is the only community college in the nation publishing peer-reviewed textbooks with original content authored by the college’s faculty. The college launched Chemeketa Press in 2015 as a way to reduce student textbook sticker shock.

  • TEXTBOOK LENDING LIBRARY

    Thank you for utilizing Chemeketa’s Lending Library.  We are dedicated to assisting you with your course material needs.

  • BOOK EXCHANGE: BUY & SELL TEXTBOOKS

    Notice: The Book Exchange Program is on HOLD for summer and fall term 2020 due to COVID-19. We invite you to try to re-sell your book first to the Bookstore if you purchased your book from there, or look at online retailers to re-sell your books. 

    This free service allows you to buy and sell used textbooks.

    How it Works

    • Only textbooks being used the following term will be sold. Check Chemeketa’s Bookstore to see if your textbook can be sold
    • You set the price on the books you want to sell
    • When your items sell, you will receive an e-mail letting you know you can pick up your money
    • Money and unsold textbooks must be picked up by the end of the second week of the term. All unclaimed money and items will be donated to the Textbook Lending Library
    • To purchase books, please bring exact change in cash
    • To sell drop your books after your fall and winter finals and during school breaks. 
    • To buy come during the first and second week of winter and spring terms.

  • LIBRARY RESERVE MATERIALS

    Your instructor might set aside course reserve materials-—like books, DVDs and articles— for you and other students to use free of charge.

    How it Works

    • Bring your Chemeketa student ID card to access your class reserve items at the Circulation Desk in the Library (Salem Bldg. 9, second floor)
    • Most books and DVDs can be checked out for in-library use only, but you are welcome to make copies of textbook pages in the Library's Print Center at $0.05 per page.
    • Your library account must be in good standing to use the reserve items. You won’t be able to use them if you 
      • Have a balance of $10 or more
      • Owe Library or Textbook Lending Library books

  • MATH HUB

    If you are enrolled in a math class at Chemeketa, the Math Hub has textbooks, MacBooks and calculators available to help you study.

    How it Works

    Textbooks

    • The Math Hub carries 2-3 copies of each required math textbook from MTH020 to MTH112. The lab does not carry calculus or statistic textbooks.
    • Bring your Chemeketa student ID card to borrow a textbook for use while in the center. There is no time limit.

    MacBooks

    • The Math Hub has MacBooks available if you use MyMathLab to view your textbook, do your homework or access other MyMathLab features.
    • Bring your Chemeketa student ID card and MyMathLab access code to borrow a MacBook for use while in the center. There is no time limit.

    Calculators

    • If you don't already own a graphing calculator, you can rent one from the Math Learning Center.
    • The rental fee is $8, with a $22 deposit ($30 total). The security deposit is refunded to your account as long as you return the calculator promptly at the end of the term.

  • TUTORING & STUDY SKILLS CENTER

    The Tutoring & Study Skills Center carries graphing calculators, molecular model kits and textbooks for the subjects they tutor, including math, writing, language and science.

    How it Works

    • Bring your Chemeketa student ID card to check out one of the resources to use while in the center
    • There is no time limit to use the resources
